    Don’t call it a comeback…

…I’ve been here for years! And if you never worked out to those lyrics, I’m on the wrong forum.

I can’t believe it’s been almost 1 1/2 years since I frequented these forums. First, my main focus shifted from lifting to other hobbies and then the political insanity and hostility drove me away.

I know when active members “disappeared” in the past, I always assumed they stopped lifting. I never did…although, for about a year I was on “maintenance”, working out for about 30 minutes every other day, doing 1 set per bodypart followed by 1-3 sets of myo reps. This worked for about 6 months before I started seeing slow, but obvious, losses on density and size. I went from 155 at about 12% BF to 151 at about 15% BF.

I almost felt guilty during COVID, having this nice home gym I was hardly using while everyone else was trying to do push-ups during lockdown.

Anyhoo…about 6 months ago I started to get the “hunger” back again. Got more serious with lifting. Gaining what I lost after such an extended maintenance period was harder than I thought. I’ve been really fighting for every pound, and staying as lean as I was before all this is almost impossible…especially since I now prefer just eating instinctively. A little bodyfat is a small price to pay for not having to count every single calorie and enjoying pork breakfast sausage and lime sherbet desert.

Tried Facebook groups for a while, but there are WAYYY too many ignorant people full of horrible advice…and they don’t really want to talk about lifting, they just want to post selfies and have people pat them on the back, often for minor accomplishments. Rather get some hard knocks and learn something.

So hey, a little balder and with facial hair, I’m coming back to look around guys…but things seem pretty slow?
