The national institute has conducted an orientation programme for the students on Friday to welcome and make them understand about the academic, extra-academic and hostel activities of the institute.

RV Raja Kumar, IIT Bhubaneswar director, said the pandemic posed many challenges to educational institutes on all fronts across the globe. Despite this, his institution has conducted research on innovative ideas and come up with unique mechanisms for running its academics in an uncompromised manner.

He said they have created a robust method of conducting conventional pen and paper examinations via online and applied the same in carrying out the performance evaluation of students. “We are happy that our institute was honoured with the ‘University of the Year’ award by FICCI recently for its performance during the pandemic,” he added.

Other professors and deans have made presentations on the salient features of the academic programmes and the academic regulations. The orientation programme was addressed by all the heads of the Schools.
