Observations from Jets training camp on Saturday.
Taking their picks
Safety Lamarcus Joyner had a strong practice, nearly intercepting Zach Wilson twice. On one play, he should have picked off a Wilson pass near the end zone, but could not pull the ball in. On another he met Jamison Crowder at the same time as the ball got there, sending it into the air for C.J. Mosley to intercept.
Dropping the ball
The Jets dropped a lot of passes Saturday night. Tight ends Trevon Wesco and Tyler Kroft each dropped a pass on one series that went nowhere. Even during 1-on-1 drills, with wide receivers facing cornerbacks, there were a bunch of drops. It may have been nerves being in the stadium for the first time this year.
Caught my eye
The Jets had a crowd of close to 20,000 fans at MetLife Stadium. It was nice to hear the fans cheering again after being away all of last season. The biggest cheers were for head coach Robert Saleh when he was shown on the big screen.

Zach Wilson’s day
It was a rough night for the rookie. He completed 11-of-24 passes for 112 yards and two interceptions. Wilson looked a little jittery in his first time out at MetLife Stadium. Wilson led one field-goal drive, but did not find the end zone at all.
Medical report
E Ronald Blair (hamstring) and OT Teton Saltes (knee) left the practice early. Rookie CB Isaiah Dunn (knee) and TE Daniel Brown (hamstring) did not practice after suffering injuries in Thursday’s practice.
