New Delhi, August 7

On a two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh, BJP president JP Nadda questioned “narrow mindsets” of leaders who called India-made Covid jabs “BJP vaccines” and asked if those with “small mentalities” could govern the state.

Pointing to the SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, who once said he would not accept “BJP vaccines”, Nadda asked, “Can people with such narrow mindsets govern Uttar Pradesh?”

He said, “No other government has accorded to farmers the respect the BJP government has by ensuring Kisan Samman Nidhi for the ‘annadatas’. During erstwhile governments, farmers had to queue up to get urea and were often assaulted.” He then listed a number of initiatives taken for the benefit of farmers. Nadda lauded CM Yogi Adityanath’s handling of Covid-19 besides the state’s successful conduct of rural elections despite the pandemic.
