Port Blair, Aug 08 (UNI) A total of 3,02,731 beneficiaries have been vaccinated so far in remote Andaman and Nicobar Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of nearly 2,81,603, at least with a single dose of vaccine.
A total of 828 people were vaccinated on Saturday in A&N Islands.
A total of 97,584 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated to date.
Meanwhile, the Secretary (IP&T), Mr Sunil Kumar Singh briefing the media persons on COVID-19 status told the media that corona positive cases in the mainland are going up and we need to be cautious or else we will have another wave.
He said people should adhere to COVID appropriate behaviour to protect themselves from being infected.
Since 3rd August 2021 great deal of relaxation was given in Andaman and Nicobar Islands from Lockdown, which has increased the threat of spread of Infection again.
As per last information, there are only 06 active Covid-19 cases in Andaman while till now 129 deaths due to Covid-19 has been reported from Andaman and Nicobar Islands so far.
Since the beginning of Covid-19 altogether 7544 people have been tested positive in Andaman and Nicobar Islands out of which 7409 people have already recovered.
