Centre shifting responsibility in reservation of OBCs: Wadettiwar

Aurangabad, Aug 7 (UNI) Maharashtra Minister for Relief and Rehabilitation Vijay Wadettiwar on Saturday alleged that the reservation bill introduced by the Centre in the Lok Sabha was tantamount to shifting its responsibility, which cast doubt on the central government's role in the reservation.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Wadettiwar said, he would stand firm with the support of the OBC community.
He is currently on a tour of parts of the Marathwada region.
Recently, the Centre has passed a bill empowering the states for reservation.
He also announced that Aurangabad would be a sub-center of Mahajyoti for the benefit of OBC students in Marathwada.
Earlier, Devendra Fadanvis and Pankaja Munde had written to the Centre to get the empirical data of the OBC community. But it was not followed up by the central government.
There have also been nine correspondences from the state government. But since the Centre refuses to provide the data, the state government has set up an independent mechanism to get the empirical data of the OBC community and added that efforts are being made in the court in this regard, he said.
