Mumbai: Police receives hoax bomb threat at BIG B’s bungalow, 3 railway stations; 2 detained

Mumbai Police, along with Railway police and bomb squad conducted searches in and around all four locations but nothing suspicious was spotted.

A bomb threat caused panic on August 7, as security agencies received an innominate call that bombs have been placed at 4 locations in Mumbai. The 4 four location listed on the phone call included Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Byculla, Dadar railway stations along with Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow in Juhu.

Mumbai Police, along with Railway police and bomb squad conducted searches in and around all four locations but nothing suspicious was spotted.

As per the Mumbai Police’s statement, the phone call was later found to be hoax. The Police traced the location and identity of the person and two persons were detained from neighboring Thane.

“The caller is a truck driver from Marathwada region of Maharashtra. We have learnt that he has a habit of drinking. He has been detained along with one more person and the process to register an offence is currently on,” a police official told news agency PTI.
