Daryl Somers has revealed plans to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hey Hey It's Saturday.
The 70-year-old TV star reached out to fans of the defunct variety show on Facebook for input, as he hopes to mark the special occasion with a 'celebratory show.'
He wrote in a post on Wednesday: 'One thing I realise is that pretty much from day one, a significant portion of our show was generated by you, our loyal audience.

'Whether through 'What Cheeses Me Orff', 'Phunny Fotos', 'Media Watch Press' etc, you provided us with fodder for fun.
'It's only appropriate to keep that going for our 50th, so time to mine your memories and get your creative juices flowing,' he said, asking followers to shared ideas for 'a segment in a celebratory show.'

Daryl presented the hit variety show from 1971 to 1999, and again in 2009 to 2010, alongside Lavinia Nixon, Jo Beth Taylor, Molly Meldrum, Red Symons, Wilbur Wilde and Russell Gilbert.

Daryl's last TV appearance was hosting the revamped Dancing With The Stars on Channel Seven with Sonia Kruger.
But Seven has 'declined to comment on speculation we're involved in a Hey Hey 50th anniversary special' in a statement to the Herald Sun.
TV expert Colin Vickery told the publication that the program's anniversary deserved recognition.

'In pandemic times, we all need a good laugh, and Hey Hey certainly provided a lot of those along the way,' he said, added that a cast reunion had been on the cards.
But he noted that networks have since been unable to find a format that could replace the Saturday night slot after Hey Hey's end in 1999.
'Once Hey Hey ended, people more or less abandoned Saturday nights for watching television,' he added.
