Should i be worried about failing when performing belt squats alone? Can anyone think of a safe way to fail them? The variation I have in mind is the variation recommended by 'the strength classroom' 's video called ' do belt squats anywhere' at 6:57 on youtube. After a long think I came up with a few ideas that might work:
1. Using your arms to pull the weight up for an extra boost
2.sliding a nearby block under the weight plates using your hands
3. wearing knee padding, placing cushions, and landing on your knees
4. sliding the clip/clamp/collar that the belt is attached to off the bar
5. pulling a small stool under your backside to sit on.
Would any of those work? I understand that you have little time when you fail a rep so would have to perform these ideas quickly.
That set-up has the weight pretty anterior, which is not ideal. I feel like if you were to fail the weight would just go to the ground so it's not an issue? You can definitely grab on to a rack post for support. The only belt squat set-up I'm aware of where failure is a big problem is with this: https://www.squatmax-md.com/
