LTT chief, two others found shot dead

Kangpokpi, August 06 2021: Liberation Tiger of Tribal (LTT) commander-in-chief Khaikhohao alias Haopu Khongsai and two others were found shot dead in a paddy field near Maojang village in Saikul sub-division, Kangpokpi district on Friday.

According to sources, among the two other victims, one was Naolun Khongsai, son of the slain LTTs chief while the third victim is suspected to be his bodyguard.

However, details of the deceased could not be ascertained till the time of filing this report.

The incident reportedly came to light around 9 am when three bodies were spotted in the paddy field located between Maojang and Tingpibung villages and about 30 km from Saikul police station.

The paddy field was supposedly serving as their hideout.

A joint team of Saikul police and 38 AR along with leaders of CSOs Saikul rushed to the spot on receiving the news and inspected the area.

A case has been registered by Saikul police station and the bodies transferred to JNIMS Morgue for post mortem examination.
