Woman alleges rape by son’s cricket coach

Ghaziabad: A woman from Vaishali has alleged that she was raped by her son’s cricket coach at his house in Indirapuram.
In her complaint to police, the woman said around 4.30pm on Tuesday, she went to submit her son’s documents to the man at his house. “He offered me a cold drink which was laced with a sedative. I fell unconscious soon after drinking it,” she alleged, adding that she was taken to a room and raped.
When she came to her senses, her clothes were stained, the woman claimed. The man allegedly told her that she should stay the night as her health was “not ok”.
The woman said she called her husband after that, left the flat and took the elevator to come down. She sat for several minutes near the tower guard till her husband came. Once he arrived, she told him what had happened and they approached the police station.
Sanjay Pandey, SHO, Indirapuram police station, said on the basis of the woman’s complaint, an FIR had been registered against the man under IPC sections 376 (rape), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 328 (causing hurt by means of poison etc with intent to commit an offence).
“We sent a police team to his house but it was locked and the cops could not find him. Neighbours told police that he hasn’t come home for the past two days,” Pandey said, adding that the woman’s statement is yet to be recorded.
