Palghar, Aug 05 (UNI) The palghar railway police took the help of an interpreter and a village Sarpanch to trace the parents of a 12 year old girl who was found loitering on the platform at Boisar the police said on Thursday.
An official release by the Railway police said on Thursday that the policemen on duty at the Boisar railway platform found the girl loitering alone at around 22.15 hours on August 01,2021.
The girl was taken charge of and taken to the Palghar railway police who with the help of the interpreter got to know the details of the tribal girl.
The girl only informed the police that she resided in Sanjan, and she could not not tell them anything more.
The Palghar railway police immediately got in touch with the Sanjan police and with the help of the village sarpanch reached the family and came to know that her mother was sick at home and only her ender sister was at home at that time.
PI Yogesh Devare of the Palghar railway police station told this correspondent on Thursday that the police first found it to get the details of the girl from her. They talked to her in her tribal language and took her into confidence.
What was revealed was something interesting. The girl informed the police that she wanted to get educated and her family was not not in a position to educate her. Hence she left the house in search of education.
The police officer said that the girl had lost her father sometime back and the family was being supported by her married elder sister.
The police officer said that while restoring the girl to her family members the police asked them to ensure that the girl gets the education needed by her, and the police officer was visibly satisfied that he could come to the assistance of the tribal child.
The elder sister was called to the Palghar police station and the teenager handed over to her the police said.
