Beauty and the Geek winner Lachlan Mansell has revealed his hidden heartbreak after a family member died shortly after production wrapped on the show.
Speaking to Yahoo! Lifestyle, the reality star revealed his beloved grandmother passed away just three weeks after he finished filming.
Lachlan said he wanted to dedicate his victory to his grandmother, who died at age 98 and never got to see him win, but knows she would be 'proud'.

'The fact that she stayed alive long enough that I was able to complete the filming and go and say goodbye to her for the last time was really lovely,' Lachlan said.
He added: 'I didn't get to tell her that we won, but she'll be watching down wherever she is now, and I know she'll be really proud of what we've achieved.'
Car enthusiast Lachlan and teammate Kiera Johnstone were crowned the winners of Beauty and the Geek during Tuesday's finale, walking away with the $100,000 prize.

The pair earned the most votes from the other contestants, ahead of Alexander Wojno and Eliza Sowada-Smith, and Josie Werner and George Goldfeder.
Lachlan and Kiera broke down in tears as host Sophie Monk announced they'd won the life-changing $100,000 cash prize.
'It means everything. Who I was when I first began seems like a far distant memory from who I am today. This experience has completely changed my life,' Kiera said.

Lachlan added: 'Nick Percat was the first rookie in a number of years to have won Bathurst in 2011. He said afterwards, he would give the advice, "You celebrate hard, that will change your life."
