Maruti Suzuki India has informed that owing to the semiconductor shortage situation, the Company has been informed by its contract manufacturing company, Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited (SMG), that production will be partially impacted in this month.
Further, SMG will tentatively not carry out production on the three Saturdays (August 07, 14 and 21). In addition, some of the production lines may see temporary reduction from 2-shift to 1-shift working, according to the filing.
"As the situation is dynamic and uncertain, the company will monitor and take a day-to-day decision on models, lines or shifts to optimize resources for maximum efficiency", clarified company on a filing.
At around 9:44 AM, Maruti Suzuki India was trading at Rs7,036.80 apiece down by Rs65.15 or 0.92% from its previous closing of Rs7,101.95 apiece on the BSE.
