Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra got arrested on July 19 for allegedly producing and distributing adult content on the OTT app. However, a big question has now arisen is regarding the delay in his arrest. As per the reports, the FIR was already registered against him in February after a woman approached the police. Post this only, the Mumbai police raided a bungalow in Madh Island and busted a live porn video filmmaking racket. According to a report by Mirror Now, when the cops were asked about the delay in Raj Kundra's arrest, they claimed that in February they didn't have enough evidence against him to make the arrest but in July, when they managed to get the evidence, they made the arrest. However, after going through various remand copies, content from the first charge sheet in the case, court arguments, the publication has found that the evidence on which police relied to make his arrest were already with police in February itself. The main evidence on which police relied to arrest Raj Kundra included Gehna Vasisth's statement where she told police that she used to sell the content for Kundra's app HotShot. Apart from this, arrested accused Umesh Kamat, in his statement told the cops that he used to work for Kundra and managed the operation-related functioning of the app which is in question for streaming adult content, from Raj Kundra's company Viaan. Police also recovered WhatsApp chats from Umesh's phone wherein Raj Kundra was giving revenue and marketing-related instructions. Meanwhile, to evade arrest Kundra had even sold his app to the UK-based company Kenrin Pvt Ltd which is owned by his brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi. Now, as per the reports, Mumbai police have had all these pieces of evidence with them since February and were even mentioned in the first charge sheet also. Meanwhile, talking about Raj Kundra, he has been booked under relevant sections of IPC, IT acts and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act. He was sent to 14 days of judicial custody on July 28.
