As per Bloomberg, Cook’s annual compensation package almost doubled in 2020. In 2019, the Apple CEO’s total earnings stood at $133.7 million. The Bloomberg data also reveals that Cook is the 8th highest-paid American CEO.
Earlier this year, a report by The Wall Street Journal had also revealed that Cook’s salary — minus the stock awards — was around $14.7 million. Cook’s salary package was just slightly more than the average salary of top CEOs across the world. According to WSJ, across the S&P 500 index, the average CEO salary was around $13.4 million. The Apple CEO’s salary grew by 28% in 2020, according to the report.
Meanwhile, Apple and Cook are gearing up to launch this year’s iPhones. It is expected that the iPhone 13 (unconfirmed name) is scheduled to be on track for a September launch. The iPhone 12 series has done quite well for Apple if the recent quarterly earnings are an indicator. This year it is expected that Apple will launch four new iPhones and the key highlights are expected to be an upgraded camera system, display changes and a brand new processor. Apple hasn’t announced when in September the iPhones will arrive. However, we can expect them to be unveiled sometime around the second week of September.
