WWE News: This latest WWE news comes from a very unfamiliar territory. United States wrestler Tamyra Mensah-Stock, who scripted history by winning the coveted Gold Medal at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics 2020 in the 68 kg final, has now her sights set for a dream WWE run.
This was the first time Tamyra Mensah-Stock competed in an Olympics, and she has capped her Olympic debut in the best way possible. After beating Nigerian veteran Blessing Oborududu by 4-1 in the final, Stock became the first-ever American Black woman champion from the United States. After the monumental win, Stock said,
“It feels amazing, I’m trying not to cry. I want to go hide in a room but people keep pushing me to places. It’s a dream come true. I knew from the beginning that I could be an Olympic champion. It was a scary thought but I knew it was achievable.”

Over the years, WWE has seen three Olympians gracing their ring in different eras. First, the 1996 Olympics Gold Medalist in wrestling Kurt Angle made his way to the company, followed by 2012 Olympian wrestler Chad Gable. In 2018, former UFC champion and 2008 Beijing Olympics Bronze medal winner in Judo Ronda Rousey also made her debut for the company.
Tamyra Mensah-Stock is also looking forward to following the footsteps of the fellow Olympians, as she revealed her ambitions of competing in WWE’s squared circle in a post-match interview.
