Surendra Pathare Foundation starts 'mahalangar' for flood-hit Satara village

Pune, Aug 4 (UNI) Coming forward to help the flood-affected people, city-based Surendra Pathare Foundation in association with Shriniwas Patil Foundation and Gurudwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha has set up the community kitchen and started 'mahalangar' of 10 days at flood and landslide affected Jor village in Wai taluka of Satara district.
Through this community kitchen, nutritious food is being cooked, packaged and delivered to the residents of Jor and surrounding affected villages.
In addition, groceries and essentials are also being provided by the Foundation.
Surendra Bapusaheb Pathare, president of Surendra Pathare Foundation, Sarang Patil and Rachna Patil of Srinivas Patil Foundation participated in this relief work besides inspecting affected areas in Jor village.
Both the NGOs also organized health camps for the elderly, arranged for hygiene equipment for women, pest control, clean drinking water, raincoats, warm clothes, bedsheets, sheets, distribution of umbrellas, painting of damaged public buildings.
Jor village in Wai taluka, having population of seven lakh. was affected by recent floods and landslide, causing damage to many houses and rendering many families homeless without basic necessities and other essentials.
