Hyderabad: During the current academic year (2021-22), computer laboratories and digital classes are set up in 5000 government schools in Telangana approved by the central government.
Education officials in Telangana are taking steps to digitize education in public schools. Steps are being taken to set up computer labs in 2000 and digitize classrooms in 3,000 public schools.
For this project, the central government will finance 60% of the cost, while the state government will bear the remaining 40%.
Under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) project, a budget of Rs 100 million has been allocated for computer laboratories and R70 million for digital classrooms. This fund will be spent during the academic year 2021-22.
There are 26,800 state schools in the state of Telangana, where 22, 34,084 students study. The government of Telangana is trying to provide corporate style education in public schools and take measures by spending large sums to achieve the goal.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, online classes have become an alternative to classroom teaching, which is why the government has decided to spend huge funds to digitize education.
In the first phase, the government schools with a large number of students will be selected to set up computer laboratories and digital classes.
One special computer lab and two digital classrooms will be set up in each school.
The funds for this project were allocated much earlier, but were delayed by two years due to the pandemic situation.
