Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.34% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:40AM (IST) on Thursday in a weak market.

Eicher Motors (up 3.88 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 0.4 per cent) and Bajaj Auto (up 0.32 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bosch (down 4.39 per cent), TIINDIA (down 2.21 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 1.37 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 1.17 per cent) and Exide Industries (down 1.13 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.34 per cent at 10212.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 25.55 points at 16233.25, while the BSE Sensex was down 88.76 points at 54281.01.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, IDFC First Bank, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and Trident Ltd were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Andrew Yule, Grauer & Weil, Kovai Medical, PVP Ventures Ltd. and D P Wires hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vodafone Idea, Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd., Keerti Knowledge and Inventure Grwth hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
