3 Ireland revenues down 5% in H1 as price pressure offsets customer growth

Thursday 5 August 2021 | 14:31 CET | News
3 Ireland ended June with 2.777 million active customers, up 6 percent from the end of 2020 and 17 percent higher year-on-year. The contract customer base rose 10 percent over the six months to 1.964 million, while prepaid users were down 2 percent in the same period to 813,000. Despite the strong customer growth, revenues for the first half of 2021 fell 5 percent year-on-year to EUR 279 million, amid flat handset sales and a drop in ARPU due to increased competition.
