Panaji: Proposals relating to 12 startups came up for discussion at the meeting of the government’s High Powered Committee (HPC) held on Thursday, with nine of them cleared by the committee.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who headed the meeting, later told the pressmen that with the exception of two to three proposals, the rest of the proposals have been approved by the committee.

“These startups are primarily owned by Goans with the exception of one startup, which is co-owned by a Goan,” he informed, stating that startup funding has also been approved for three to four women entrepreneurs from the information technology and the pharma sectors.”

“Now funds would be released to them in three instalments, with the first instalment of 40 per cent to be released very soon as per the committee’s recommendation,” Sawant informed.
