Punjab govt announces Rs 1 crore each for state's hockey players on winning bronze medal in Tokyo Olympics

Indian Men's Hockey team managed to win the bronze medal in Tokyo Olympics.
LUDHIANA: The Punjab government has announced Rs 1 crore cash reward to all the hockey players from the state who were part of the bronze medal-winning men's team in Tokyo Olympics, Punjab Youth Development Board (PYDB) chairman Sukhwinder Singh Bindra said.
Led by Bindra and Olympian Hardeep Singh Grewal, the people of the Ludhiana celebrated the team success by cutting a special cake in Sarabha Nagar market.
Lauding the Indian hockey team, Bindra said that PYDB will give heroes’ welcome to the hockey team members once they reach the state.
He said that the players would also be honoured with appreciation certificates.
