Parisrentaparts unfair handling of deposit – Property & Home

I’m wondering if anybody on here can provide me with any advice on the following issue;
My partner and I began renting in Paris in July 2020 with a contract that clearly states that all electricity costs are included. We have now finished our tenancy and after leaving have been informed by the landlord that we used 800€ more of electricity than they had anticipated. We are now being charged this amount, it’s being deducted from our deposit, despite not being informed about this previously (I assume they had seen the bill every month but waited until now to tell us!)
It does not seem fair as in the contract it simply states ‘electricity included’ with no mention of an overconsumption clause. The company known as Parisrentaparts has acted unprofessionally in more ways than just this and are also charging us for unjustified damages despite no inventory ever being sent to us in the first place.
I have read some other posts on here with deposit disagreements that should rightfully be taken to the local court as a small claim, I would just like to know any opinions on this as I hope that taking this to a court would not potentially involve any further costs for myself and my partner. I would be open to taking this to a French or EU court (as I am not a french resident) if that would be appropriate, I am open to hear opinions from both tenants and landlords if they have similar experiences!
