PM Narendra Modi has approved an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF for the next of kin of those who have lost their lives due to rains and floods in Madhya Pradesh. Rs. 50,000 would be given to the injured.

Amid the heavy rainfall and floods in Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's office on Monday declared a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of those who have died, and Rs 50,000 would be given to those injured.
Prime Minister Office (PMO) took to Twitter and wrote, "PM Narendra Modi has approved an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF for the next of kin of those who have lost their lives due to rains and floods in Madhya Pradesh. Rs. 50,000 would be given to the injured."
Rains and floods in Madhya Pradesh have affected approximately 1,171 villages in Gwalior-Chambal areas, especially Sheopur and Shivpuri districts. The authorities have added National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams that have evacuated more than 6,000 people so far.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to Twitter and wrote, "The Central Government is working closely with the Madhya Pradesh Government to assist those affected by heavy rainfall and flooding in parts of the state. I have spoken to Chief Minister Shivraj Chouhan and reviewed the situation. I pray for everyone’s safety and well-being."
Meanwhile, "Ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from Prime Minister Relief Fund (PMNRF) would be given to the next of kin of those who lost their lives due to flooding in parts of West Bengal. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000," tweeted PMO.
Earlier on Wednesday, PM Modi spoke to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the flood situation due to the water discharge from dams in parts of the State.
