MANGALDAI, Aug 4: BJP MLA from Sipajhar, Paramananda Rajbongshi made his maiden visit to the educational institutions of his native place Deomornoi on Tuesday.
On his visit to Deomornoi Degree College, the only higher educational institution of that locality, Paramananda had a meeting with the staff and the president with other members of the governing body of the college. Principal Gitali Kalita delivered the welcome speech and made a brief outline of the present scenario of the college which was established in 1993 and was provincialised in the year 2013. Mahendra Katoky, president of the governing body, in his speech explained about inadequate infrastructural facilities of the college which has been creating hurdles in the teaching-learning process. Bijoy Kumar Baruah, assistant professor cum HOD, economics department, on behalf of the staff of the college, made an appeal to the MLA to take necessary steps for infrastructural development of the very institution. “We are struggling with our limited resources in imparting education in this digital era, so we need a big push from the government and we hope our MLA cum distinguished member of the governing body will take bold steps in this regard,” he asserted.
MLA Rajbongshi assured that in the coming time he would make necessary arrangements for the all-round development of the college and made a declaration of construction of pucca boundary wall within a short period. He also visited other educational institutions of Deomornoi namely Deomornoi
