Thane, Aug 5 (UNI) Sikkim Chief Minister Premsingh Tamang on Thursday thanked the Maharashtra government and CIDCO for allotting 4,000 sq metre plot to his government for the development of Sikkim Bhavan at Kharghar in Navi Mumbai.
The City and Industrial Development Corporation had allotted the plot situated in Kharghar Node of Navi Mumbai for Sikkim Bhavan.
During his cordial visit, Mr Tamang appreciated the various infrastructural developments in Navi Mumbai in the field of connectivity, public transport, greenery, health and social facilities.
He also expressed his willingness to take cooperation between Maharashtra and Sikkim to next level.
“The plot allotted for the Sikkim Bhavan will soon pave the way for construction of the Bhavan. It will provide shelter to the needy citizens from Sikkim who visit Mumbai and Navi Mumbai for cancer treatment. I also appreciate the efforts taken by CIDCO to transform the barren land into a satellite city like Navi Mumbai and the way it has increased the land value in city.” Mr Tamang added.
"CIDCO has always given due importance towards allotting plots for social purposes since its inception. Along with providing shelter for the citizens of Sikkim, the development of Sikkim Bhavan will create and enhance a cultural and devoted bond between Maharashtra and Sikkim.” Dr Sanjay Mukherjee, vice-chairman and managing director, CIDCO, said on the occasion.
