The Government of India is playing a vital role in attracting youth towards aromatic plant cultivation, to generate employment opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir. Pulwama is famous for lavender, rose and medicinal plant cultivation. As these aromatic plants have good medicinal value, their cultivation can become an important source of employment for the local youth. The CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM), which is one of the largest research, development and extension stations for high-value medicinal, aromatic and spice crops, is training interested aromatic plant growers about the oil extracting process.
