Vaccinate more people in Maha's districts with high positivity rate: minister

Aurangabad / Mumbai, Aug 4 (UNI) Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Wednesday suggested to increase the scale of vaccination in the districts of the state with high positivity rate.

The districts of Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara and Pune have a high positivity rate and efforts are being made to increase the vaccination rate in all the four districts, he stated in an official statement.

In all the four districts, the number of corona patients is currently higher than other districts in the state, he further said.

Against that background, more emphasis is being placed on the triad of tracking, testing and treatment by the health system, he pointed.

The nodal authorities have been instructed to increase the number of vaccinations in all the four districts and the system should make efforts to ensure more vaccinations, the minister said.

While emphasising on the need of strict adherence to corona prevention rules to prevent a third wave of coronavirus, Mr Tope added that globally in countries where vaccination is high, the third wave has occurred, but its prevalence appears to be declining.
