Some unknown persons have been booked for stalking and eve-teasing an 18-year-old girl and assaulting a youth staying in her neighborhood. Sources said the victim, a native of Himachal Pradesh, was staying as a paying guest (PG) in Sector 34. On Sunday evening, she was returning from the Sector 34 market when a few persons in an i20 car started following her.

They also eve-teased her. When the victim reached near her PG, a youth riding an Activa, who stays in her neighborhood, tried to intervene, following which the miscreants thrashed him before escaping from the spot. The police said the vehicle had a Ludhiana number. Meanwhile, a case was registered at the Sector 34 police station. The police have started an investigation into it. — TNS
