Katarina Johnson-Thompson off to a flier in Tokyo! Team GB star storms to victory in her 100m hurdles heat in the first event of the women's Olympics heptathlon

Team GB star Katarina Johnson-Thompson opened her Olympic heptathlon campaign with a strong performance in the 100m hurdles.

The 28-year-old won her heat in 13.27 seconds, having only run faster when she won the world title in Doha in 2019.

Johnson-Thompson has battled back from a ruptured Achilles she suffered in December and also competes in the high jump on Wednesday morning.

Next up for Johnson-Thompson is the high jump in just under an hours time at Tokyo's Olympic Stadium.
