Papa John's aims to hire 20,000 during National Hiring Week event

Papa John's International Inc. PZZA, -1.17% and its franchisees are seeking 20,000 new employees across North America when it hosts its National Hiring Week event from August 16 through August 22. The company is looking for full- and part-time workers, including pizza makers, delivery drivers and managers. ADP numbers released on Wednesday show that July private-sector job additions came in well below expectations. Companies have struggled to find and retain workers in recent months. Papa John's stock has gained 36.2% for the year to date while the S&P 500 index SPX, -0.48% is up 17.4% for the period.
