Bengaluru, Aug 4 (UNI) Twenty-nine ministers, including five new faces, took oath of office in Karnataka at simple ceremony at Raj Bhavan here today.
Earlier, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had announced that he would induct 29 minister to expand his government.
State Governor Tawaarchand Gehlot administered the oath of office to the new ministers at the function which was attended by the chief minister, former chief minister B S Yediyurappa and several other dignitaries.
Several new faces had been included by the chief minister -- Halappa Achar, Sunil Kumar, Araga Jnanendra, Shankar Patil Munenkoppa, B C Nagesh and Munirathna Munirathna.
The chief minister had also not included six MLAs, who were part of the previous BJP government
headed by Yediyurappa. They included Suresh Kumar, R Shankar, Arriving Limbavali and Srimanth Patil.
The ministers, who too oath of office today, included K S Eshwarappa, R Ashok, B C Patil,
Dr C N Ashwathnarayana, B Sreeramulu, UmeshKatti, S T Somashekhar, Dr K Sudhakar, Bhairathi
Basavaraj, Murugesh Nirani, Shivaram Hebbar, Shashikala Jolle, K C Narayana Gowda, Sunil Kumar,
Araga Jnanendra, Govinda Karajol, Munirathna, B Nagaraj, Gopalaiah, J C Madhuswamy, Halappa Achar, Shankar Patil Munenkoppa, Kota Srinivar Poojary, V Somanna, S Angara, Ananda Singh, C C Patil, and B C Nagesh.
It may be recalled that Basavaraj Bommai had been appointed as the new chief minister after
Yediyurappa resigned last week.
The new chief minister was in New Delhi, seeking approval for the expansion of his ministry for the last two days and had held several rounds of meeting with the BJP's national leaders including
National President J P Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah and others. NV UNI
