NOIDA: Following University Grants Commission's (UGC) declaration that 24 "self-styled" educational institutes are fake and most of them are in UP, including one from Noida, the regional higher education officer (RHEO) has said a legal notice might be sent to the institution.
"UGC sends out its findings to state governments, in case of violation of the UGC Act, 1956. About the Noida institute, we will take necessary action," RHEO Dr Rajeev Kumar Gupta said. "We will wait for the government directive on this," he added.
At the Lok Sabha, Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan had spoken about 24 "fake" institutions in response to a written question. Among them is Indraprastha Shiksha Parishad, Noida.
"We came to know about the institution from the news," Gupta said.
