Lucknow, Aug 4 (UNI) The state government has received Rs 12655.85 crore revenue in July, which is Rs 1980.43 crore more than the revenue received in July last year, UP Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said here on Wednesday.
In July last year, the government had received revenue of Rs 10675.42 crore. In comparison to last year, an increase has been shown in all the main items of revenue except geology and mining, Mr Khanna said.
The government got Rs 4697.99 crore revenue in July this year under the head of GST.
A revenue of Rs 2328.34 crore was received on account of Value-added tax (VAT).
Mr Khanna said that in July, an income of Rs 2795.49 crore was made on account of excise, while Rs 2089.29 crore was received in the head of stamp and registration.
Revenue receipt of Rs.612.07 crore was received on account of transportation. Revenue of Rs 132.67 crore was received under the head of Geology and Mining.
In July, against the target of Rs 17076.93 crore in tax and non-tax items, Rs 12655.85 crore was received. This is 74.1 percent of the monthly target for July.
State Finance Minister said that in the first four months of this financial year from April to July, a total revenue target of Rs 62137 crore was set, against which 68.8 percent i.e. Rs 42739.71 crore was received.
