The problem of billionaires who use bulletproof vehicles is that they just cannot upgrade every other year. Mukesh Ambani, India’s richest person and one of the wealthiest businessmen in Asia only travel in bulletproof vehicles. Most businessmen around the world own only one armoured vehicle because they can be quite expensive. Ambani owns four armoured vehicles and three of them are from Mercedes-Benz. This video shows three Mercedes-Benz S-Guard in a convoy, which probably is the most expensive convoy of a civilian in India with a cost of nearly Rs 35 crore.
The video by CS12 Vlogs shows various convoys of the Ambani family. However, the one convoy that caught our eyes is the three Mercedes-Benz S-Guard travelling together in a convoy. One should note that the Ambani family never travels together in the same car for security reasons. It is quite possible that all three cars had occupants. But we cannot be sure about their identity.
W221 Mercedes-Benz S-Guard
This is one of the oldest armoured vehicles in Ambani’s convoy. This vehicle was Ambani’s regular ride a few years ago but then it got replaced with the facelifted model. This is the first time since this W221 S-Guard came out of the Antilla. While many presumed that the Ambani has sold this armoured vehicle, the latest spotting show that he still owns the car and it works just fine on the roads too.

Ambani then got an upgrade of the S-Guard and got the long-wheelbase one with extra legroom in the rear seats. It offers a VR9 level of protection, which is equal to the CEN B6/B7 standard. In simpler language, the vehicle can stand against a lot of firepowers including rifles aimed at the vehicle from various angles. It also gets underbody protection against several types of grenades and even land mines.
The power comes from a 6.0-litre V12, bi-turbocharged petrol engine that develops enormous power of 523 Bhp and peak torque of 850 Nm. There is a seven-speed automatic transmission. Due to the added armour, which adds tons of weight, the suspension of the vehicle is re-tuned to handle better with the extra weight.
The heavy vehicle runs on the Michelin PAX run-flat tires that can do up to 80 km/h even with zero air pressure inside. Most of the features are not publicised due to the safety of the customers but the vehicle also gets a fire suppressant system that can save the vehicle from fires.
W222 Mercedes-Benz S600 Guard
This is the latest-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Guard that Ambani received earlier this year. The cost of this car is likely to be more than Rs 10 crore depending on the customisation level. The W222 Mercedes S600 Guard has been designed to look as regular as possible. That’s to ensure that the vehicle’s appearance does not give out the fact that it is a bulletproof vehicle.
This is the armoured version of the Mercedes-Maybach S600 sedan and comes with VR10 level protection, which makes it the first civilian vehicle in the world to get this certification. It translates into withstanding steel core bullets fired directly at the car and even 15 kg of TNT blast from a distance of 2 metres! It comes with a long list of features including the reinforced base structure and a special underbody armour with polycarbonate-coated windows. The vehicle is made up of special steel and the body shell is made up of reinforced steel.
It comes powered by a massive 6.0-litre V12, bi-turbocharged petrol engine that develops a massive 523 Bhp and 850 Nm of torque. It gets a seven-speed automatic transmission. Even the suspension of the car has been re-tuned to handle the extra weight while providing maximum comfort.
