Karnataka Cabinet Expansion LIVE: A total of 29 ministers took oath into Basavaraj Bommai-led Karnataka government cabinet today. There is no Deputy Chief Minister this time. The new Ministers were administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot at the Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru. Prior to the oath taking, Bommai had addressed the press conference from Vidhana Soudha along with the state in-charge Arun Singh and maintained that his cabinet would be a mixture of experience and enthusiasm. He explained that 8 Linagayats, 7 Vokkaligas, 7 OBCs, 3 Dalits, 1 Scheduled Caste, 1 Reddy will be in the cabinet and one berth is given to women. 2:40 PM: All 28 ministers of the Bommai-led Karnataka government take oath at Raj Bhawan in Bengaluru.

2:35 PM: 29 ministers of Bommai’s team have begun taking oath. Govind Karjol is the first one to be sworn-in.

2:00 PM: Bommai took oath as the chief minister on July 28 after the resignation of his predecessor B S Yediyurappa on July 26. This Karnataka government will hold its first Cabinet expansion since the appointment of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai shortly.
