Exide Industries (up 1.13 per cent), TVS Motor Company (up 0.99 per cent), Bosch (up 0.96 per cent), Balkrishna Industries (up 0.65 per cent) and Eicher Motors (up 0.55 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Ashok Leyland (down 2.09 per cent), Bharat Forge (down 0.97 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (down 0.48 per cent) and Tata Motors (down 0.2 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.01 per cent at 10341.05 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 152.2 points at 16282.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 585.27 points at 54408.63.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 14 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Trident Ltd, YES Bank and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Vardhman Acryl, GNA Axles, Aarti Surfactants, IIFL Wealth Mgmt and Cineline India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vodafone Idea and AKG Exim Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
