MPhasis (up 0.78 per cent), Infosys (up 0.41 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software (up 0.36 per cent), HCL Technologies (up 0.25 per cent) and Tata Consultancy (up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Coforge (down 4.3 per cent), Tech Mahindra (down 0.82 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech (down 0.51 per cent), Mindtree (down 0.49 per cent) and Wipro (down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.01 per cent at 31161.8 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 136.9 points at 16267.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 524.16 points at 54347.52.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Trident Ltd, YES Bank and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Vardhman Acryl, GNA Axles, IIFL Wealth Mgmt, Aarti Surfactants and Cineline India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vodafone Idea and AKG Exim Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
