Greater Noida: Home guard killed, accomplice injured during fight between two sides

GREATER NOIDA: A home guard was shot dead while his friend suffered a serious head injury when the duo accompanied the Bishada accused Hariom to Chanchali village of Jewar area late on Tuesday.
Hariom who is an accused in the Bishada case was arrested by Gautam Buddh Nagar police in 2019 during a shootout for alleged involvement in loot cases.
He is currently out on bail in the Akhlaq case.
According to police, Hariom had a personal dispute with Daalu, a native of Meerut’s Sardhana area with whose niece, he had eloped.
Hariom is related to Daalu, a native of Sardhana and the former had eloped with Daalu’s niece.
An FIR was lodged against Hariom in Sardhana, Meerut for the incident after which the girl was married off to another youth within 20 days.
However, Hariom had been making phone calls to the girl’s husband and claiming that he had a relationship with the girl.
Around 9pm on Tuesday, Hariom accompanied by home guard Pintu and another accomplice Monu had gone to visit Chanchali to meet the group led by Daalu, Ankush and others.
When their arguments got violent, Hariom and his accomplices resorted to aerial firing, attracting firing from the other side in response. Both sides resorted to stone-pelting also.
Additional DCP (Greater Noida) Vishal Pandey said that when the trio tried to escape from the spot in their car, Pintu was shot in the head while Monu was hurt in the stone pelting and suffered a serious injury in his head.
Pintu died at the spot while Monu is currently recuperating in a private hospital.
