Andrew Pozzi reached the 110m hurdles final as one of the fastest losers on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old ran 13.32 seconds to finish fourth in his semi-final but reached Thursday's final as the eighth fastest.

However compatriot David King - running in the third semi-final - could not join Pozzi in Thursday's showpiece as he ran 13.67 seconds to finish seventh in his race.

However David King, running in the third semi-final, could not join Pozzi in Thursday's final

American favourite Grant Holloway qualified fastest, posting a time of 13.13 seconds, with compatriot Devon Allen second-quickest.

Pozzi's run came on a Wednesday day session which saw the women's heptathlon kick off, with Great Britain's Katarina Johnson-Thompson starring from the off.

The 28-year-old won her heat in 13.27 seconds, having only run faster when she won the world title in Doha in 2019.

Johnson-Thompson has battled back from a ruptured Achilles she suffered in December.
