Berlin (dpa) – German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas has called on political actors in Lebanon to live up to their responsibilities in the wake of the disaster in Beirut. “Lack of reforms is also the reason why many wounds of the past have still not healed. The destroyed port still stands as a symbol of this,” Maas said at a virtual aid conference. One year after the devastating fertiliser explosion in the port of Beirut, Germany is giving another 40 million euros in humanitarian support.
