Gurgaon: Of the 17,585 students in 300 schools in Gurgaon who appeared for the Class X CBSE boards, over 99% cleared the exams, whose results were declared on Tuesday. Since the formal exam did not take place this year because of Covid, no topper has been announced by the board, and the results of some students are still awaited.
Just like in the Class XII boards, whose results were declared last week, several students notched up near-perfect scores. Deepannita Mukherjee and Raghvi Gupta of Amity International School in Sector 46 scored 499 out of 500 (99.8%). Tanvi Jain from Blue Bells Public school too scored 99.8%.
The school recorded an average score of 92.13% (best of five), with 128 students out of 349 scoring above 95%. An elated Deepannita said the result was much better than she had expected and credited her success to her teachers and parents. She wants to pursue a career in mathematics research. “I was completely overwhelmed when the result was declared, as I didn’t expect 499 marks. While there are many misconceptions that maths is one of the toughest subjects, I like it and want to conduct research in the subject,” she said.
Raghvi too said she is ecstatic after the result. “I am very happy and would like to express gratitude towards my teachers, principal and my parents who have always stood with me. While the online classes are not equivalent to physical classes, my teachers were always there to help me,” she said.
Schools like Amity International (sectors 43 and 46), Ryan International, DAV Public and Ajanta Public claimed they have recorded 100% pass percentage this time. Ayush Singh and Lavya Jain were the highest scorers at Ryan International School with 99.6% (498 out of 500).
At Amity International School in Sector 43, Prince Mittal, Shreyash Raj, Anika Bali and Latika Gupta scored 99.6%. Principal Dr Anshu Arora said 66 students out of 141 scored above 95%.
“The 2020-21 academic year was unprecedented as the pandemic disrupted normal life and yet taught us many things. One of the most important things it taught us is to be ready to adapt to any circumstance. I am extremely proud of my teachers and students for this stupendous result.”
At Shiv Nadar School, topper Aditya Patnaik scored 99.4%. Similarly, Devang Rana emerged as the topper at Sector 31’s Ajanta Public School with a 99% score.
At Delhi Public School in Sector 45, Vishnu Kant Chudhary and Nandini Chanana were the toppers with a score of 98.8%, while Saloni topped DAV Public School with a 99% score.
