Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea (number of shares traded: 14.48 crore), Suzlon Energy (number of shares traded: 6.69 crore), JP Power (number of shares traded: 3.52 crore), Trident Ltd (number of shares traded: 3.27 crore), YES Bank (number of shares traded: 1.43 crore), Zee Ent. (number of shares traded: 1.30 crore), SAIL (number of shares traded: 1.24 crore), Tata Steel BSL (number of shares traded: 1.15 crore), Reliance Comm (number of shares traded: 1.14 crore) and PNB (number of shares traded: 1.13 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 10:04AM in Wednesday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 129.6 points up at 16260.35, while BSE Sensex was up 488.19 points at 54311.55 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (up 3.71 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd. (up 2.31 per cent), Shree Cements Ltd. (up 2.11 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd. (up 1.94 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (up 1.71 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Bharti Airtel Ltd. (down 1.23 per cent), Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (down 1.18 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (down 0.76 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd. (down 0.62 per cent) and Grasim Industries Ltd. (down 0.47 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
