The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced that the Class 10 board exam results 2021 will be announced at 12 pm on August 3, Tuesday. The CBSE took to Twitter to ask students to keep their roll numbers handy. The board exams were cancelled this year in view of the aggressive second wave of COVID-19. The result will be announced on the basis of an alternate assessment policy.

The Union government had earlier said that results of the Class 10 Board exams will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board and any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her will be given an opportunity to write the exam as and when the conditions are conducive to hold exams.

Last week, CBSE announced the Class 12 results, and the highest ever pass percentage of 99.37 was recorded, with girls outshining boys by a slender margin of 0.54 per cent. While the pass percentage of girls and boys stood at 99.67 per cent and 99.13 per cent respectively, transgender students achieved a pass percentage of 100 per cent. According to the policy decided by a 13-member panel of the board, the theory paper evaluation formula was 30 per cent weightage to Class 10 marks, another 30 per cent to Class 11 marks and 40 per cent weightage to marks obtained in Class 12 unit test, mid-term and pre-board exams.
