Gurgaon: A 27-year-old man has been missing from a paying guest facility in the city, the police said on Monday.
Avinash Mishra, a banking executive at DLF Phase-1 branch of Kotak Mahindra Bank, had been living in Gurgaon for the past 6 months. He went missing on July 31 from his PG accommodation, police said.
The case came to the fore when his relative Santosh Pathak asked the PG caretaker to check Avinash’s room as he was not responding to the family’s calls.
The police said that they found broken ATM cards and a few other things at his rented facility.
“A day before his disappearance, Avinash had a video call with his brother and a few friends. He seemed upset but there is no apparent reason for it,” said Pathak, adding that on the same day, Avinash had withdrawn Rs 18,000 from his ATM and made an online transaction of Rs 7,000.
Aviash belongs to Lucknow. His father is a well-known homoeopathic doctor. “He has no financial issue. He used to share everything with his family,” said Pathak.
An FIR was registered under IPC Section 346 (kidnapping) at Sector 29 police station on Sunday. “A probe is under way to locate him,” said police spokesperson Subhash Boken.
