Flood: MP CM speaks with Rajnath

Bhopal, Aug 2 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan urged Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday to deploy two helicopters for rescuing people trapped in three villages of Shivpuri District due to the Parvati river being in spate, official sources said.
Army and Air Force officers are in constant touch. District administration and Disaster Response Force teams are actively engaged in a rescue and relief operation. The senior politician took stock of marooned villages from the Situation Room at Mantralaya. Residents of Kupwara, Harrai and Akurni have been shifted to safe places while the mission was underway vis-à-vis Barkhedi, Chilapai and Raipur when reports last came in.
