State Irrigation Engineer-in-Chief, C. Muralidhar has written a letter to the board.
Telangana government has requested the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) to convene a coordination committee meeting only after a full board meeting and if necessary, call for an emergency board meeting.
State Irrigation Engineer-in-Chief, C. Muralidhar has written a letter to the board. He said the matter related to notification of jurisdiction of projects in Krishna basin by KRMB is an issue having consequences on Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and it is to be discussed in detail in a full board meeting.
Referring to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act-2014, he said any decision on important issues has to be discussed and decided in a board meeting.
Meanwhile, the Telangana state officials have not turned up to the first-ever joint meeting of the Coordination Committees of the Godavari River Management Board (GRMB) and Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) today. The meeting was headed by the GRMB member-secretary BP Pandey.
The coordination committee was constituted to resolve the ongoing water disputes between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It may be recalled that the Telangana government has been opposing the gazette notification, alleging that it is against the interests of the state.
