Tokyo Olympics are underway amid a global pandemic behind closed doors to minimise health risks from the deadly coronavirus which has wreaked havoc in the last year and a half. For the very same reason, overseas fans have also been banned for the first time in the history of the Games, and domestic spectators can only watch events at a handful of venues.
However, even the global pandemic could not stop an Indian sports fanatic, Om Prakash Mundra from traveling to Tokyo alongside the Indian contingent. The 71-year-old Indian fan, while speaking to India Today Consulting Editor, Sports, Boria Majumdar, said that he loves sports and is staying in Tokyo for the entire duration of the Olympics and the Paralympics.

Om Prakash Mundra is not your ordinary sports fanatic as he travels the world with a bag full of Indian delicacies. Mundra says he carries a bag full of Indian food so that any Indian fan or volunteer does not have to miss Indian delicacy while relishing the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.
Among the several journalists, officials, and coaches who accompanied athletes at Tokyo Olympics, a sports fanatic, Om Prakash Mundra also found his way. Om Prakash Mundra has traveled to multiple sports events across the world and is currently working as a volunteer at the Tokyo Olympics. and he is seen cheering for Team India when he is not working.
Recently, the 71-year-old also attended the FIFA World Cup, which was held in Russia in 2018. Despite his age, there is no slowing down the avid sports fan, who seeks to travel the world and attend one sporting event after another.
