The local benchmark -- Nifty -- ended the session at record closing high on Tuesday. Market made positive start, as preliminary data released by the commerce and industry ministry showed merchandise exports grew 48 per cent YoY in July to $35.17 billion on account of a rise in global orders in shipments of petroleum products, engineering products, gems and jewellery segments. Market maintained its gains, as Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the government's net tax revenues grew 5 per cent in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2021. Index continued gaining momentum, as Centre informed that over 29.55 crore loans amounting to Rs 15.52 lakh crore have been sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) across the country since its inception in April 2015. In last leg of trade, market added more gains to touch intraday high point. Finally, Nifty ended the session above its crucial 16100 level.
Most of the sectoral indices ended in green except Media and Metal. The top gainers from the F&O segment were Cummins India, Dr. Lal PathLabs and Ashok Leyland. On the other hand, the top losers were PVR, RBL Bank and Vodafone Idea. In the index option segment, maximum OI continues to be seen in the 16300 -16200 calls and 16700 -15200 puts indicating this is the trading range expectation.
India Volatility Index (VIX), a gauge for market’s short-term expectation of volatility increased by 7.36% and reached 13.75. The 50 share Nifty up by 245.60 points or 1.55% to settle at 16,130.75.
Nifty August 2021 futures closed at 16150.00 (LTP) on Tuesday, at a premium of 19.25 points over spot closing of 16130.75, while Nifty September 2021 futures ended at 16183.50 (LTP), at a premium of 52.75 points over spot closing. Nifty August futures saw an addition of 28,113 units, taking the total open interest (OI) to 2,37,192 units. The near month derivatives contract will expire on August 26, 2021 (Provisional).
From the most active contracts, SBIN August 2021 futures traded at a premium of 0.70 points at 446.70 (LTP) compared with spot closing of 446.00. The numbers of contracts traded were 36,558 (Provisional).
Reliance Industries August 2021 futures traded at a premium of 4.00 points at 2094.00 (LTP) compared with spot closing of 2090.00. The numbers of contracts traded were 26,143 (Provisional).
HDFC August 2021 futures traded at a premium of 3.25 points at 2558.25 (LTP) compared with spot closing of 2555.00. The numbers of contracts traded were 24,788 (Provisional).
Adani Ports August 2021 futures traded at a premium of 1.20 points at 708.20 (LTP) compared with spot closing of 707.00. The numbers of contracts traded were 23,520 (Provisional).
Dabur India August 2021 futures traded at a premium of 2.75 points at 616.00 (LTP) compared with spot closing of 613.25. The numbers of contracts traded were 22,659 (Provisional).
Among, Nifty calls, 16500 SP from the August month expiry was the most active call with an addition of 4,354 units open interests. Among Nifty puts, 16000 SP from the August month expiry was the most active put with an addition of 24,511 units open interests. The maximum OI outstanding for Calls was at 16500 SP (36,295 units) and that for Puts was at 15000 SP (1,01,914 units). The respective Support and Resistance levels of Nifty are: Resistance 16,213.65 -- Pivot Point 16,064.00 -- Support -- 15,981.10.
The Nifty Put Call Ratio (PCR) finally stood at (1.59) for August month contract. The top five scrips with highest PCR on HDFC (0.89), Hero Motocorp (0.88), BPCL (0.87), Canara Bank (0.83) and SRF (0.82).
Among most active underlying, SBIN witnessed a contraction of 41 units of Open Interest in the August month futures contract, Bharti Airtel witnessed an addition of 566 units of Open Interest in the August month futures contract, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries witnessed a contraction of 313 units of Open Interest in the August month futures contract, Adani Ports witnessed an addition of 1,682 units of Open Interest in the August month futures contract and Tata Steel witnessed an addition of 739 units of Open Interest in the August month futures contract (Provisional).
